First-time author has crafted a detailed work of scholarship
Mount Vernon, VA – aois21 publishing, LLC announced today the signing of Thomas Athridge as an aois21 Creative. Thomas has spent the past 15 years researching and writing a work of historical nonfiction, the scholarly study American Presidents in Times of War.
American Presidents in Times of War is an analysis of how the Commanders-in-Chief of the United States have dealt with wartime conflicts during their years in office, from the Revolutionary War to the 21st-century War on Terror. Drawn from speeches, interviews, and the collections of the Library of Congress, this detailed review of Presidential actions is presented in relation to the actions following the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001.
Athridge was born and raised in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Thomas graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Curry College in Milton, MA, where he majored in communications and minored in political science. He is currently an employee at the Library of Congress, since December 1998, working in the U.S. Anglo-American Acquisitions Division. Thomas has a keen interest in politics in both the past and present, and he is quite enthusiastic about the current political climate and about politics in general. Thomas currently resides in Bethesda, MD.
"Tom is the kind of author we are specifically trying to help," said Keith F. Shovlin, aois21’s publisher. "He has poured his life into his story and it was well done, but when he tried to find a publisher, he found nothing but rejection without consideration. This isn’t us taking a chance on a first-time author. This is us believing in a good story and doing what is right to make it available."
