Team organized to take part in charity walk this fall
aois21 publishing, LLC is organizing a team to take part in this year’s National Walk to End Alzheimer’s on the National Mall. The 9th annual charity fundraiser will take place October 8th.
Publisher Keith F. Shovlin has been a frequent participant in previous years and decided to get all of aois21 involved by organizing a team. Staff and Creatives are encouraged to take part, and their participation will be promoted on their individual pages. The team has set a goal of $2,000, but each walker is encouraged to raise at least $100. Fundraising has already begun, giving the team four months to reach its goal.
As we have stated on the aois21 team page, http://act.alz.org/goto/aois21:
“aois21 publishing wants to help its authors share their stories, because everyone has a story. When Alzheimer's hits, those stories are lost, and everything learned is forgotten. Save the stories. Save lives. Stop this horrible disease before it's too late.”
Every 67 seconds, someone in the United States develops Alzheimer’s disease. It is one of the 10 most common causes of death, yet it is unpreventable and incurable. There are currently over 5 million Americans living with the disease, and the numbers are rising. The money raised will help provide care and support to those suffering from Alzheimer’s, go toward research and development in the search for the cure, and support public advocacy to gain further support through government aid and legislation.
"This is a cause that is very important to me, as several members of my family have been affected by it,” said Shovlin. "Part of the mission of the walk is to spread awareness, and I can think of no better way to help than to have aois21 take part and spread that message even further."
