Team aois21 launched for 2017 DC Walk to end Alzheimer's!
aois21 publishing is organizing a team to take part once again in this year’s National Walk to End Alzheimer’s on the National Mall. The 10th annual charity fundraiser will take place in October, the exact date TBA.
Publisher Keith F. Shovlin has been a frequent participant in previous years and decided to get all of aois21 involved by organizing a team. Staff and Creatives are encouraged to take part, and their participation will be promoted on their individual author pages. The team has set a goal of $1,021, but each walker is encouraged to raise at least $100. Fundraising has already begun, giving the team six months to reach its goal.
As we have stated on the aois21 team page, http://act.alz.org/goto/aois21:
“aois21 publishing wants to help its authors share their stories, because everyone has a story. When Alzheimer's hits, those stories are lost, and everything learned is forgotten. Save the stories. Save lives. Stop this horrible disease before it's too late.”
Every 67 seconds, someone in the United States develops Alzheimer’s Disease. It is one of the 10 most common causes of death, yet it is unpreventable and uncurable. There are currently over 5 million Americans living with the disease and the numbers are rising. The money raised will help provide care and support to those suffering from Alzheimer’s, go toward research and development in the search for the cure, and support public advocacy to gain further support through government aid and legislation.
